If you have visited Max & Erma's lately you may have noticed that they are promoting their customer loyalty program at their restaurants. I recently visited the one near Polaris in Columbus was excited to see the QR code on their table display so I scanned it to join their program.

I like the idea of using QR codes to engage with customers, however; when QR codes are used, Responsive or mobile web pages should be used. I signed up for Max & Erma's customer loyalty
program using my Samsung Galaxy S 3 and had had a difficult time because I had to keep pinching and zooming just to complete the registration form.
Helpful Tips for a Successful QR Code Campaign
Here are some suggestions for a restaurant or other business that are using QR codes to engage with customers.
- Signage - Make sure the signage is attractive and explains the program
- QR Code - The QR Code should be placed near the middle or top of the signage and be large enough to scan with little effort from the user.
- Web page - The web page should be mobile or Responsive.
Your customers are using a variety of mobile devices that
come in different sizes. Make sure your content can be easily viewed by
your audience.
