Local business uses QR Codes to offer specials to customers

Magic Mountain in Columbus, Ohio is using QR Codes to offer an opportunity for customers to sign up for special offers.  They strategically placed a sandwich sign in a high traffic area that contained a QR Code that was easy to scan with a barcode scanner.

Magic Mountain is a family fun center that has miniature golf, laser tag, Go-Karts, and other fun activities.  They have two locations in Columbus, Ohio:

Attractions vary by location.  You are also able to host birthday parties, group events, corporate outings, at their facilities. Corporate team building activities are also available and include challenges such as competitive miniature golf tournaments, Go-Kart races, and exhilarating arcade experiences.    

Using QR Codes to offer customers discounts was a great move for the marketing department at Magic Mountain.   I also found the placement of the sandwich sign that contained the QR Code to be clever.  There was a long line of families waiting to purchase their entertainment packages which ensured that the signs containing the QR Code would be seen.
