Instagram vs Google Photos

If you have an Android phone, Samsung Galaxy Note or or other Google powered mobile device, you may have noticed the Photos icon on your phone, tablet, etc. I had seen the Google Photos app on my phone but had not paid it any attention until recently, and I am sure glad I did!
Out of curiosity, I tapped on the Google Photos icon and was very pleased with what the app had to offer. I feel the Google Photos App is comparable to the Instagram app but, in my opinion, the Google Photos app is better.

Here are some features of the Google Photos app:

  • Photo Album - the app automatically creates photo albums from your photos based on the day

  • Auto Backup - All photos taken with your Android mobile device are automatically saved to your Google account in the Cloud

  • Editing Features - photos can be cropped, framed, and you can enhance them with really cool filters

  • Social Sharing - Photos can be shared on all of your Google networks and you can share it with other apps including Twitter, and Instagram.

  • Full size photos: you are able to keep your images at their full size

Here are some features of Instagram:

  • Social Sharing - photos are shared on Instagram

  • Editing Features - you can enhance photos with filters and frames. Images have to be cropped and cannot be saved or shared at their original size.
