Social Networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, HiFive, and Twitter have proven that billions of people see the value in having the ability to connect with others from all over the world with similar interests.  Some use Social Networking as a way to market their business to the people they have connected to through social networks such as the ever-popular Twitter.  There is something about having the ability to have relationships with hundreds and thousands of people and have access to them with a few keystrokes and the click of a mouse.  Another factor that makes social networking so popular is the fact that most of them are free.

For example, there is a service that allows for you to see a map of people around you using the Layar browser on your Droid, iPhone or other compatible smart mobile device. You can also get directions to the actual location of where those people are. This takes social networking to another level.  It is not just about who you are and what you do, but now it includes where you are.

Overall, social networking has become a part of our lives, both personal, and professional, and the mobile community and mobile phone software developers has recognized this and has integrated social networking applications into the mobile devices to allow for us to socialize easily on our mobile devices.
