Mobile Social Networking

Mobile, Social Networking

The popularity of Social Networking has skyrocketed since it began. Social Networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, HiFive, and Twitter have proven that billions of people see the value in having the ability to connect with others from all over the world with similar interests.  Some use Social Networking as a way to market their business to the people they have connected to through social networks such as the ever-popular Twitter.  There is something about having the ability to have relationships with hundreds and thousands of people and have access to them with a few keystrokes and the click of a mouse.  Another factor that makes social networking so popular is the fact that most of them are free.

Simplify your Networking

Whether you use social networking for business or fun, you know that it can be time consuming, especially if upu belong to multiple social networks. Thankfully the developers of these social networks and mobile phones realize this and have integrated social networking mobile applications into our Droid, BlackBerry, iPhones and other smartphones. Twitter is unique because it not only offers a mobile site for their users, but they also give users the ability to use Twitter with text messages.  This is really a benefit to the users of Twitter who do not have a smart phone to view their mobile site, but who still want to be able to send tweets using their mobile phone.

Mobile Access to Social Networking

Social networking sites have created business opportunities for software developers. Independent companies are able to create new mobile applications using the APIs (application program interface) of applications to create new experiences for users. For example, there is a service that allows for you to see a map of people around you using the Layar browser on your Droid, iPhone or other compatible smart mobile device. You can also get directions to the actual location of where those people are. This takes social networking to another level.  It is not just about who you are and what you do, but now it includes where you are.

Overall, social networking has become a part of our lives, both personal, and professional, and the mobile community and mobile phone software developers has recognized this and has integrated social networking applications into the mobile devices to allow for us to socialize easily on our mobile devices.
